Kintsugi, or "golden joinery," is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery. Behind these techniques lies a deeper philosophical sense of embracing imperfections and appreciating flaws. In our modern world, the craft of repairing is slowly disappearing, as we consume more of everything, including our relationships. We invite you to take a moment to listen to your broken feelings and transform them into new forms of beauty.
In this class, we will explore modern kintsugi techniques, as the traditional method takes a longer time. Our goal is for you to understand the philosophy of repairing both objects and emotions. You are welcome to bring your own clean, broken pieces or something meaningful you wish to break and transform. If you don't have any objects (bowls, vases, cups, etc.), we are happy to provide one for you.
We keep this class intimate so we can listen to each other's words or silence. Please come with an open heart.
Class space is limited to six people, and due to the special nature of this class, there are no refunds.
We will provide beverages, wine, and light snacks.
